Massage Chair
Different types of rollers
2D Rollers: These rollers move up and down your back but can’t adjust speed or intensity.
3D Rollers: In addition to the up-and-down motion, these rollers can adjust both speed and strength for a more customizable experience.
4D Rollers: These offer all the features of 3D rollers, plus the ability to push out and away from the track, allowing movement along the Z axis for an even deeper massage.
Different types of tracks
There are three main types of massage tracks in chairs:
L-Track: Follows a straight line along your spine and extends to the glutes, resembling an “L.”
S-Track: Curves along the natural shape of your spine, mimicking an “S” for a better fit.
J-Track: Combines the features of both L and S tracks, following your spine’s curves while also covering the glutes, looking like a “J” with a curved top.
Heat massage
- Infrared Heat: These filaments heat the entire back of the chair, providing overall warmth.
- Heated Rollers: Apply heat directly to the areas being massaged.
Zero gravity
- Zero gravity is a special seating position designed to minimize the impact of gravity on your body. Inspired by NASA, this position reclines you similarly to how astronauts sit during takeoff. It allows for a nearly flat position while maximizing the benefits of the massage. By elevating your limbs above heart level, zero gravity also improves circulation throughout your body, making your massage even more effective.
Massage Chair FAQ
In short, not really. “While there have been claims that a massage chair can lead to miscarriage or premature labor, there is no evidence that that is true,” says Dr. Romy Ghosh, OB-GYN with Austin Regional Clinic. “Massage chairs used as intended are generally safe when pregnant.”
